Although I ended with furniture, I began with an emotion: fear. Through my research, I found that fear is often coupled with other, more positive emotions such as thrill and excitement, as well as negative emotions like discomfort. I was drawn to how these feelings blur together. My project weaves thrill into everyday objects, transforming the mundane into moments of visceral surprise and inviting a deeper, more curious relationship with discomfort and positive conversation.
